At Kennedy Seasonal Camp, wildlife observers, the greatest luxury is the personalized wildlife observing walking safari experience. Spaces are limited to a minimum of two and a maximum of seven people. ALL safaris are scheduled set-date run every Monday to Saturday . ALL guests MUST arrive at Victoria Falls International Airport. Each trip requires a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 7 people
Day 1 Road Transfer to Hwange National Park
Upon arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, the Walking Safari Guide & HOST will meet and greet you. You will be driven in an air-conditioned vehicle for about 3 hours on tarred road going to Hwange National Park. You will see rural cultural villages along the way to Hwange National Park and, we will stop to show you the African mud and thatch huts so that you can interact for few minutes with the friendly African people to learn about their modest lifestyle.
Day 2 Kennedy Seasonal Camp
Boutique Kennedy Seasonal Camp in Hwange National Park. Here the level of experience shifts a notch upwards towards wildlife. The language here is about wildlife immersion, authenticity, wilderness experience and traditional tented African safari. Hwange National Park is home to 10% of the World’s elephant population and boasts of a biodiversity of 400 bird species and 100 mammal species. You are here to meet and live amongst lions, elephants, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, hyena, painted dogs and more. This is a real life, raw and original African wildlife experience as enjoyed by pioneer tourists.
Day 3
Here, you have come face to face with African wildlife. This is a traditional, authentic and purist wildlife-observing walking safari personalized for you. The Kennedy Seasonal Camp is ideally located close to waterholes offering superb wildlife encounters, often right at the camp’s doorstep. Get truly close to spectacular African wildlife by walking and approaching on foot. Go beyond the constraints of the safari vehicle to safely walk and approach wildlife on foot capturing memories. Experience the perfect combination of walking and daily game drives where each guest is guaranteed a window seat in an open 4×4 safari vehicle. Day 4 Open Safari Vehicle and Walking
During the walking safari you’ll spend most of your time driving in an open safari vehicle only to step out when walking, approaching and observing high profile wildlife. The Walking Safari Guide and wildlife-observers will repeatedly step out of the open safari vehicle to walk, approach and observe high profile mammals listed as but not limited to; African Elephant – Loxodonta Africana Cape Buffalo – Syncerus caffer Lion – Panthera leo Leopard – Panthera pardus Cheetah – Acinonyx jubatus Hunting dog – Lycaon pictus Spotted hyena – Crocuta crocuta
Day 5 Wildlife Observers and Walking Safari
The magic of African Safari Walks is to immerse wildlife-observers into the 400 species of birds and 100 species of mammals in Hwange National Park, this is whether they’re walking and approaching a pride of lions at dawn break, or sipping a G&T in camp at dusk. At Kennedy Seasonal Camp, wildlife observers will find plump pillows, soft sheets, ceramic flush toilets, hot showers and fluffy towels; however, the greatest luxury is the personalized wildlife observing walking safari experience.
Day 6 Departure
All good things come to an end. Today you will be driven from Hwange National Park for 3 hours in an air-conditioned vehicle to Victoria Falls and, we will wave you a fond goodbye as you board your plane back home through Victoria Falls International Airport.
WHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR SAFARI
BINOCULARS, as a wildlife-observer we encourage you to invest in the best set of optics binoculars that will deliver crisp image detail when you observe wildlife on safari. We recommed a pair of 8x42 Swarovski binoculars with chest-straps.
WALKING SHOES, bring a pair of well worn comfortable walking shoes (trainers) to use when walking and approaching wildlife on foot.
CAMERA, a portable pocket sized point and shoot camera will do everything for you except making you a cup of coffee.
CLOTHING, pack dull colored clothing such as khaki, brown or green. Add a sunhat and sunglasses, suncream and personal toiletries
